stable AFTER getting married

finally getting around to posting this..

So I sold my Z. Got married and the wife said.. "I think we need a four door. For when kids come." So the time had come to let the TT go. (and my sil80 drift machine. sigh)

So somehow I convince her that the Evo is a family car. With a big CF wing.

I really have to say that they do NOT build cars like they used to. Sure the evo drives like a dream and is technologically advanced in comparison. But the fit and finish and overall use of materials does not come close to the Z. Every panel on the Z was solid. On the Evo, the roof panel buckles in if you press down with your hand. Sure there is a crapload of aluminum on the car to keep weight down, but the fenders look and feel like paper compared to the Z. Interior doesn't come close, though the recaros do grip quite well - still does not compare to the wraparound cockpit feel you get on the Z.

When you mash the throttle, the evo is fast _enough_, but does not grunt with the authority of the Z. Come 100mph, the AWD drivetrain suckage kicks in where the VG would continue to haul ass.

Man I miss my Z.

The bright side? Stock for stock, the evo handles better by a pretty wide margin and stopped faster as well. Also the engine is a DREAM to work on. Nice simple 4 cylinders, I can swap the turbo in 3 hours flat.

The down side? Your stupid friends with the coupes ALWAYS make you drive when you go out.

Oh yeah, to compensate for my need to get the tail out, I got to keep one of my S13s and pick up the S14 you see on the left.
